Project Description

Maurpankhi is a home that breathes with its environment, where courtyards, materials, and open spaces create a seamless dialogue between architecture and nature. Sunlight pours through planned voids, and a majestic tree at the entrance—preserved as a symbol of memory—stands embraced by a curved zinc-clad wall that evolves gracefully over time. For the family, true luxury was never about opulence but about creating a retreat from demanding corporate lives—a space to pause, breathe, and reconnect. Designed by House & Beyond, the home unfolds around this idea of stillness and fluidity. Expansive courtyards bring in light and air, while the double-height foyer sets a tone of openness and warmth. The ground floor blurs traditional boundaries between drawing, dining, and kitchen spaces, ensuring a harmonious, uninterrupted flow anchored by views of lush pockets of greenery. Natural materials such as zinc, chosen for their robust beauty and ability to weather gracefully, mirror the timeless journey the family will continue within these walls.

The design approach extends beyond the expected. The basement—engineered without columns—embraces a sunken courtyard, transforming it into a lively, light-filled social hub with a lounge, bar, and play area. Moving upwards, the private quarters reflect a quiet individuality: a serene master suite, a pastel-toned daughter’s retreat, and a graceful parents' suite, all bathed in natural light and connected visually to nature. The topmost floor offers a sanctuary for mindfulness, with a meditation room, the son's bedroom with a cozy reading nook, and a seamless flow into the expansive terrace. Across every level, Maurpankhi balances strength and softness, openness and intimacy—inviting its inhabitants to find peace, connection, and belonging within architecture that evolves gently alongside them.
