Atech Solutions
Project Description
Designed for Atech Technologies in Bangalore, this office building seamlessly blends functionality with a deep connection to nature. Housing the company's sales, marketing, design, and engineering teams, the structure responds to the city's polluted environment and the common confinement of traditional glass-box workspaces. The design prioritizes the integration of nature, offering occupants a workspace that fosters well-being and mindfulness of time and surroundings.
The site’s defining feature, an old mango tree, anchors the design. Surrounding it is a reflective water body and steel girders that accentuate its prominence, forming a tranquil courtyard at the heart of the building. The spatial planning embraces a duality of purpose. Essential service spaces such as lifts, washrooms, staircases, and server rooms are enclosed within a minimalist brick mass on the western side to mitigate glare and heat. A sky-lit courtyard acts as a bridge, leading to the primary workspaces on the eastern side. This design enhances natural light penetration and visual connectivity while maintaining a calm, distraction-free atmosphere.
To insulate against the busy road and nearby playground, a blank brick wall on the upper levels provides acoustic protection. Materials like exposed brick, wood, and concrete contribute to a rustic yet refined aesthetic, celebrating the tactile quality of natural elements. Thoughtfully placed patterned tiles, laminated glass, and carefully selected upholstery add subtle accents without overwhelming the serene ambiance. Embracing minimalism, the space forgoes unnecessary partitions and false ceilings, leaving services like exposed AC ducts visible to maintain spaciousness and industrial elegance. Through this sensitive and purposeful design, the building serves as a testament to the harmonious coexistence of architecture, nature, and function.
